Who am I ?

I am the basis of all wealth, the heritage of the wise, the thrifty and the prudent.

I am the poor man's joy and comfort, the rich man's prize, the right hand of capital, the silent partner of many thousands of successful men.

I am the solace of the widow, the comfort of old age, the cornerstone of security against misfortune and want. I am handed down to children through generations, as a thing of great worth.

I am the choicest fruit of toil, Credit respects me. Yet I am humble. I stand before every man bidding him to know me for what I am and pocess me.

I grow and increase in value through the countless days. Though I seem dormant, my worth increases, never failing, never ceasing. Time is my aid and population heaps up my gain. Fire and the elements I defy, for they cannot destroy me.

My possessors learn to believe in me; invariably they become envied. While all other things wither and decay, I survive. The centuries find me younger, increasing in my strength.

I am the foundation of banks, the producer of food and the basis of wealth throughout the world.

Yet I am so common that thousands, unthinking and unknowing, pass me by.

Welcome To My "New" Home Page - Updates to Site listed below:

For those who had previously seen my Website will note that the photograph shown on this page was taken at the beginning of 2001 and is no representation as to how I look now. This is just of a reminder to those that new me before my new look for 2003.

January 2003 was the start of a new look without the moustache trademark that most knew me with and have never seen me without. I guess it must be for the best as the comment have been that it makes me look much younger than before.

Working Out Can Be Fun

It can be a pain to dedicate 30 minutes a day to exercise, as recommended by the Department of Health. Now a new study says several shorter sessions of even moderate activity are just as healthy. Researchers at the University of Ulster say that 10 minutes three times daily has the same heart-healthy, mood-boosting effects as one 30-minute stint. Cleaning the house, gardening, playing with your kids - anything that elevates your heart rate - counts.

The Poinciana-Tree's Lamant.
Alas! I only am a tree,
And now is doomed an end to me.
They cut me down and use the space
To there erect a kitchen-place.
What matters that I did my duty,
Food is to man far more than beauty.
In sentiment he often errs,
The practical he much prefers.
When I am dead and gone, poor tree!
Will anyone remember me?
They laugh to scorn that one should mind,
And soon forget their fellow-kind
When these are dead. They easy say
He is no use: he's had his day
And in the end he's best away.
To men I am only a tree,
And now no use. Alas! Poor me!

[The above was written by Sidney Moxsy in Jamaica 1913 with a comment "The tree is to be cut down to permit the erection of a kitchen, next the house"]

"A ROOM WITH A VIEW"

The late Noel Coward's "Firefly" home in Jamaica - well know for it's - "Room with a view".

The room overlooks the North Coast of Jamaica and it was from here that gave Noel Coward much inspiration for his work.

The views from this point are abosolutely magnificent and one can see why Noel chose the very spot after hacking his way through the bushes many years ago to purchase his little spot of paradise.

Many famous people including the Queen Mother have visited "Firefly".
